Verland "June" McIver, 94, of 500 Dudley St., Apt. 201, Sanford, N.C. died Friday April 23, 2016 at Central Carolina Hospital.
Funeral service will be conducted on Thursday April 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Blandonia Presbyterian Church by his former pastor Rev. Mamie Wilson-Hooker. Interment will follow at Jonesboro cemetery.

June was a life long member of the Presbyterian Church and he loved being an Usher.

He is survived by his children: Joyce McIver Shepherd of Atlantic City, N.J., Shelby J. Boyd (Yul), Sarah Johnson, Blonzie J. Harrison (Jerry) all of Sanford, N.C., Ruth J. Miller of Washington, D.C., Ernest Johnson (Charlotte) of Washington, D.C., Theodore Johnson (Debra) Baltimore, Md., Sherman Johnson, New York, N.Y., a special niece who was his caretaker Clemmye Simmons of Sanford, NC, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews , other relatives and many friends The family will receive friends at the homes of his daughter Shelby @ 210 Temple Ave. and niece Clemmye 410 E. Globe St.
No wake is scheduled.
The body will be at Blandonia church one hour before the service Thursday.
