Mrs. Racquel D. "Princess" Horton Cameron, age 49, of 304 N. First Street, Sanford, NC died Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at her Home.

Racquel Darlene Horton Cameron, known by her family as 'Princess or Miss Racquel'. Racquel was born on January 23, 1971 to William Rock Horton and Linda Reives Horton of Sanford, NC and departed this earth on May 12, 2020.
A woman of community with a smile like the sunshine is what she is best known for. Racquel knew no strangers. She would feed the hungry and house the homeless. She always kept just enough of everything to share with others.
Racquel was a very proud graduate of Lee County Senior High's Class of 1989 where she hailed as the '88-89 Homecoming Queen.
Racquel loved to cook and host dinners for friends and family. She was also an avid novel reader and one of her other favorite things to do during her time off was watch the ID Channel. She was a very vivid and entertaining storyteller with the ability to make everyone laugh and feel better about life.
Racquel spent the last 17 years employed with Amtrak as a Customer Service Representative/Ticket Agent in Raleigh, NC; and most recently Fayetteville, NC. She loved her Amtrak family and they loved her more.
She leaves behind her parents; William and Linda Horton; her husband (10 years) but best friend of 31 years, William Vincent Cameron, daughter Rockaycielle Cameron (Josh); Father in-law, William Earl Cameron, Sr., step-children; William Earl Cameron, Shalonda Clemons (Russell), Stacee Cameron, and Sherrod Cameron (Atyia). Sisters; Sharon Horton Currie (Greg), Tanya Horton, Donna Horton Haith, Roxanne Horton McIver (Robert); Brothers: Rodney Reives (Jackie) and William 'Rocky' Horton (Veronica); Sisters- in law; Edna Davis (Jeffrey), Ellen Worthy, Lisa Fuller; Brother-in law; Henry Earl Cameron. Uncles; Robert T. Reives, Sr. (Ruth), Ira Gainey, Andre T. Horton (Gail).
Racquel also leaves her very special grandson who was the apple of her eye, Master Jebrill Brinkley.
Racquel had a host of nieces and nephews and cousins and the following adored friends: Tonya Buie, Regina(Amtrak), Eric (Amtrak), George (Amtrak), Tim (Amtrak) Lavette (Amtrak), Vernon (Amtrak) and Charlene and Whitney Tysor, and Nakisha Utley (cousin).
The Family will receive friends at the home located at 304 N. First Street, Sanford, NC beginning May 14-May 16, 2020 from 1 - 7pm only.   VISITATION AT THE HOME HAS BEEN CANCELLED.5/15/2020
Visitation will be held outside only.
Graveside service will be held Saturday May 16, 2020 at 11:00 am at Lee Memory Gardens. Social distancing rules will apply.
Due to COVID19 re pass will be limited to immediate family.
NO PIBLIC VIEWING.
