On February 5, 1930 , a bright and sunny day in Moore County, NC, along came an Angel with a beautiful "little Angel who was called Martha Jane Crutchfield" to the loving arms of Eugene (Pete) and Louise Dixon Crutchfield. She bravely continued her journey for 90 years before returning to her Lord and Savior as Martha Jane Crutchfield Adams McLeod on March 16, 2020 in the loving home of her beloved daughter, granddaughter, great grandchildren and great-great grandson.
She graduated from Pinckney High School in Moore county where she was raised. Later she moved to Apex, NC and married Hover Adams, one son Herbert Edwards Adams joined this union. After several years the family returned to Sanford, where she met John Hill and they became engaged and had one daughter Audrey Crutchfield. Returning to Sanford Martha pledged her faith to Blandonia Presbyterian Church and was a faithful member.
Martha worked what Sanford had to offer: Sanford Tobacco Co., Federal Spinning Corp and retired from Avondale Corp.
Eventually she slowed down to take care of her loving parents which became a full time job. Many years passed before she would marry Paul Lenor McLeod. Life had plenty of ups and downs, her parents died, her son died. But the strength of her love stayed strong as she toiled through with loving tenderness. She fought well having loss her parents, fiancé, son, two husbands and a son-in-law Boise Moore but she kept her faith and continued to love and serve her family with tender loving moments, She was the glue for her daughter, grands, great-grands and great-great grandson.
