John Mark Bennett departed his earthly life on March 25, 2026 in Portland, OR.

John was predeceased by his parents, brother, Robert Anthony Bennett and daughter, Brianna Bennett. Family left to cherish his memory are his children; Shene Caldwell and Javairius Bennett (Shakidra) and four grandchildren; Markaylah Dickey, Najair Dayyan Rasheed, Ja'Ziyah and Samorah Bennett. John shared a very special relationship with stepdaughter Nivea Robinson. His loving siblings are Patricia (Jimmy) Barnes of Southern Pines, NC, Janet Shavers of Stamford, CT, Nancy Hambric of Durham, NC, Roberta Bennett of Jackson Springs, NC, Reverend Hampton (Betty) Bennett of Mt. Gilead, NC, Susan (Kevin) Bouknight of Durham, NC, Audrey Bennett of Durham, NC and Sabrina Bennett of Jackson Springs, NC. He is also survived by 15 nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at 2pm at Belford Baptist Church. Interment in the church cemetery.
