Obituary

Dorothy Williams Bristow Wilson (Dot ), 85, of 211 Harrington St., Sanford, N.C. died at her home on Sunday, July 11, 2021.

Service will be conducted on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 1:00pm at Fair Promise A.M.E. Zion Church, Rev. Joseph Robbins, Pastor.  Interment will follow at Lee Memory Gardens.  Public viewing will begin on Friday at the church at 11:30a.m. til hour of service.

Ms. Dot attended and graduated from W.B. Wicker High School. She was a member of Fair Promise A.M.E. Zion Church, although her early Christian Education began at our family church  "Reaves Chapel A.M.E. Zion in Glendon, NC."

Ms. Dot was a beautiful, stylish and strong woman guaranteed to light up the room with her dancing smile and contagious laugh. A wonderful mother, and an amazing grandmother that did not play about her babies. She spoke her mind unapologetically, each word filled with love whether you wanted to swallow the truth or not. That was one of her many traits that we will not forget. This woman will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Monroe Williams, Nannie Lou Woods, Thomas E. Williams, James E. Williams, Charlie F. Williams, Alton Ray Williams, Van M. Williams, and Ethel Bell Williams.
She leaves many loved ones behind to cherish her memory: her loving husband James Milton Wilson; son Tony L. Bristow and daughter Janice S. Bristow her step-children Mike Martin, and Maurice Wilson, two sisters: Eleanor Spruell, and Derema Williams; two     sisters-in-law: Phyllis Brooks, and Delphia Flack; six grandchildren: DeEric Kelly, Chet Davis, Takina Bristow, Tony Bristow Jr, Angel Bristow Mclean (John Mclean) and Tyrice Wilson; they blessed her with a total of eighteen great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and two on the way, along with her very special friends/sisters Pinky, Tennesee, Betty Byrd ; God-daughter Pastor Renee Harris, in addition to a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Family will receive friends at the home from 12 noon til 8pm, respectfully.
